Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Workers Welfare Board, is mainly responsible for the provision of housing, education, health and other welfare facilities to the workers and their families. Workers Welfare Board not only constructed residential colonies, schools, technical & vocational institutes, community centers, medicare centers and hospitals but also initiated grants i.e., Marriage Grant, Death Grant and Scholarships for Industrial & Mine workers and their children. Its main sources of income includes onetime initial seed money of Rs. 100 million by Federal Government, 2% contribution by establishment with profits exceeding from Rs. 500,000/- in an accounting year, residual of profits distributable under the companies profit (Workers Participation) Act 1968, and income from investments made by the Board/Fund.
