Under the supervision of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour, Mr. Fazal Shakoor Khan, a special ceremony was held at the Workers Welfare Board Peshawar to conduct a lucky draw for sending industrial workers on free Hajj.
The ceremony was attended by Secretary Labour Capt. (R) Mian Adil Iqbal, Secretary Workers Welfare Board Mr. Sher Alam Khan, Director Labour Mr. Irfan Khan, Director Administration Mr. Saifullah Zafar, Deputy Director Mr. Muhammad Shoaib, members of the draw committee, and other senior officials.
During the draw, the names of 17 fortunate individuals were approved, including 15 industrial workers and 2 employees of the Workers Welfare Board. All expenses for the selected pilgrims will be fully borne by the Workers Welfare Board.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Fazal Shakoor Khan said that the Free Hajj Scheme is a historic and remarkable initiative for the welfare of workers, providing the labor community with a golden opportunity to fulfill their religious obligation every year. He emphasized that the provincial government gives special importance to addressing the social and religious needs of the working class.
The Minister further highlighted that complete transparency and merit were ensured throughout the entire selection process so that this facility reaches only the most deserving individuals. He added that the government’s labour-friendly policies will continue to introduce such welfare measures in the future.
In conclusion, the Minister congratulated all those selected through the draw and extended his best wishes for their blessed journey.
